During the last 10 years, ECMO has become the first line circulatory as well as respiratory support in many centers worldwide. The cardiac surgery and ICU teams of the Pitié-Salpêtrière Cardiology Institute were early leaders in this field. This is why we organized 5 years ago a yearly meeting named Paris International Congress on ECMO dedicated to circulatory as well respiratory support with ECMO.
