1. Understand the role of the managing director in relation to the purpose and objectives of the board.
2. Describe the managing director's role in defining and communicating corporate strategy, leading and motivating the organisation and managing change.
3. Differentiate between the roles of managing director and company chairman.
4. Combine the unique responsibilities associated with managing the organisation's operations and setting out corporate strategy.
5. Appreciate the issues and principles associated with the corporate governance debate.
Course Leader: Chris Wilkins.
Chris is an experienced and highly successful Managing Director with a proven track record of managing companies for growth and profit. He was President of the Automation Group, Europe until joining Wellington Holdings Plc as CEO. Credentials: Chris is an MBA graduate and holds professional qualifications in marketing and engineering. He is also a past President of the British Fluid Power Association.
