Sepsis is a significant cause of death and disability in the UK. According to the UK Sepsis Trust, 37,000 people are estimated to die of sepsis each year. Current evidence-based guidelines emphasise the need for good initial assessment and immediate treatment, but in busy hospital departments, these protocols are not always followed.

Sepsis: improving recognition and management is a CPD certified one day conference that will examine the challenges of identifying those at risk and provide practical advice on immediate management. It will be useful for all specialists involved in acute, emergency and critical care to update their knowledge and skills.

Benefits of attending:
Hear an overview of the scale of the problem in the UK
Gain insights into the importance of developing a national sepsis strategy
Increase your understanding of improving recognition of sepsis and the effective response
Hear from a patient about their experience of sepsis
Take part in case study sessions on prehospital management and treating maternal and childhood sepsis
Share and exchange ideas with the leading experts in the field
