This Catastrophe Risk Modelling program will aim to give attendees a deeper understanding of all components of the cat risk modeling process to support better business decisions and will re‑ect current trends in catastrophe modeling and the insurance industry.

Natural catastrophes, environmental extremes and enhanced climate variability represent a substantial challenge. With an industry context of tighter regulation and ever-increasing competition, the re / insurance Industry needs the organisational capability to capture and maintain high quality data content, particularly those data elements critical to understanding the potential impact of catastrophic events.

Catastrophe modeling produces large volumes of detailed output that can be di­cult to interpret, quality assure and summarize. Understanding the uncertainty relating to these outputs can be a major challenge. Generating reports that can underpin consistent and reliable business decisions is a key value-add.

The course facilitators, Tereza Alvarez-Diaz and Steve Pearson have a combined 40 years experience in re/insurance and have worked for some of the biggest corporations in the industry globally.
