EDPD 2012 – data protection provisions subject to fundamental change

The big reform in Europe
The European Commission will come forward with proposals to reform the European Data Protection Framework by the end of January 2012. This major modernisation of the rules will have profound effects on how data privacy issues are treated in the European Union and beyond. The proposals are set to allow every EU citizen to be able to delete their personal data at any time, even if the company is based outside of Europe.

EDPD is addressing this important development for you. Meet the commission and other representatives from the European institutions and discuss how the reforms will impact on your company. Furthermore, explore the subject in greater depth in an intensive workshop on the second day of the event.

Parallel panels
In addition, as a business person, find out what you currently need to take into consideration in certain areas of the world. Hear country representatives from France, Argentina, Poland, Switzerland, India and Russia, and also get an overview of data protection in the Asia-Pacific region.

The event will be rounded off by addressing issues relating to data protection compliance in corporations.
