May 22 - 25, 2011
The Resources and Energy Symposium (RES2011) targets the entire Australian resources sector. Not
solely an oil and gas or mining or base metal conference, RES2011 is focused on the big picture. It’s about
bringing the resources and energy industries together because at the end of the day investor interest
encompasses the whole sector.

RES2011, (22 – 25 May, 2011) will be staged in the birthplace of the resources industry, Broken Hill with
a comprehensive programme that includes industry presentations and keynote speakers from across the
globe. Additionally delegations are coming from key investment hubs such as China and India.

The Symposium kicks off on 22 May with the Great Australian Outback Challenge, a golf day that can
only be described as unique on a truly amazing course. Two and a half days of serious presentations,
debates and keynotes is interspersed with Welcome to Broken Hill cocktails and a spectacular Gala
Dinner. The programme covers issues facing the sector; why investing in Australian resources is smart
investment; industry predictions; the changing face of the industry and investment opportunities from
listed companies.

Speakers will represent individual industry sectors, with political and financial aspects as well as new
technologies and environmental responsibilities covered. The dedicated RES2011 Advisory Board includes
representatives from academia, industry, and meets monthly to ensure this inaugural event is fresh,
exciting and innovative. In essence RES2011 will inform, challenge and break the boring conference mode.

RES2011 is a not for profit Symposium. Profits will be used to provide student industry scholarships.
