Assessing the potential for economically viable shale gas in Asia

The explosive growth of shale gas production in the U.S.A. in recent years has sparked a global race to determine which other countries and regions from around the world have the potential to replicate this success. One of the main areas of focus is Asia, with vast deposits of shale gas thought to be stored in basins across India, China & Indonesia.

Exploration is already under way to find out where the key shale areas will be in these countries and how much is available. Oil & Gas E&P companies and governments from these nations as well as experienced U.S. companies are racing to determine the resource potential and market for shale gas production in these regions and how they can adapt cost-competitive technologies to exploit this potential.

Shale Gas Asia 2011 will be the first truly global summit to unite the most senior executives from the leading Oil & Gas E&P companies in India, Chinaand Indonesia with the national governments and experienced shale gas operators in the U.S.A. to determine the potential for economically viable shale gas in Asia.
