March 25 - 26, 2010    Bulawayo , Zimbabwe
Following a survey conducted by our select committee on Corporate Governance in Africa (CGA) between October and December 2009. We have identified issues raised by some of the leading companies, banks and governments interviewed during our consultation titled “Excellence in corporate governance practices: An Africa perspective”. In our efforts to improve and sustain socio-economic development in Africa and acting on the recommendations of survey participants; we are facilitating a two-day high profile summit in Zimbabwe, titled "Corporate Governance in Africa 2010", scheduled to take place at the Elephant Hills, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe from the 25th - 26th of March 2010. The aim of the summit is to mobilise efforts to encourage companies to introduce, embrace and strengthen corporate governance practices in Africa.

Corporate governance plays a vital role in the stability of any economy. Good corporate governance must promote fairness, transparency and accountability. Recent corporate scandals has made almost everyone aware of the weaknesses of the previous corporate governance systems and provoked the need to address the issue. Shortcomings and flaws in corporate governance have lead to economic crimes, which is on the rise.
