IDA’s 62nd Annual Conference on Reading, Literacy & Learning, from November 9-12, 2011 at the Hilton Chicago in
Chicago, Illinois. While enjoying the immense history and culture of the “Windy City,” you will be able to benefit from an array of valuable and informative presentations, interact with colleagues and associates from around the globe and discover
a new world of possibilities in the exhibit hall. This year’s session program offers a variety of topics including working memory, vocabulary, English language learner, technology, latest research findings and of course techniques to implement this knowledge into your classrooms, centers and homes. These four days will provide a wealth of information and enduring memories.

The conference starts on Wednesday with your choice of attending one of four exceptional full day symposia led by Elsa Cardenas-Hagan, Michele Berg, Malt Joshi and Jon Greene. These symposia will address in-depth issues around the English Language Learner, working memory, orthography, and current information for school administrators in the private school system. We will again “kick-off” the conference with a spectacular keynote address by noted educator, business leader and philanthropist, Pleasant Rowland on Wednesday evening followed by cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at the Exhibit Hall Grand Opening.
