Each year the hospitality industry takes a more and more important place in the Ukrainian economy. Domestic business activity and frequency of business visits from abroad have increased. On the background of the general tourist attractiveness of Ukraine the existing hotel capacity is unable to satisfy constantly growing demand and increasing clients’ requirements. This determines the demand for apartments which correspond to world standard. The investments are growing exactly in this sector. Many factors speak in favor of positive dynamics and availability of hotel business development.
Peculiarity of modern stage of hotel business development in Ukraine is movement to all-European standards of services and desire of operators to achieve them as soon as possible. The sector of elite hotels is growing extremely fast. International investors routinely finance building of fashionable hotels for 200-400 rooms. Many international hotel networks possess hundreds of hotels in Ukraine.
Important factor stimulating the HoReCa industry is the forthcoming conduct of the European football contest “EURO-2012” in Ukraine. Kiev has taken into consideration the UEFA remarks concerning the hotel industry, sports and transport infrastructure as well as medical services. In particular before 2012 in Ukraine there will appear 10 five-star, 15 four-star, 16 three-star and 7 two-star hotels. One of them will have 53 floors. Besides it is planned to build 25-30 small hotels in every district of Kiev.
As we see Ukraine is at the difficult stage of creation of competitive hospitality industry. Regarding this the most effective means for achieving this goal is the promotion of a specialized exhibition project HoReCa.
