July 9 - 17, 2011    Copenhagen , Denmark
We are delighted to host the 10th Meeting of the GIT Society, in Denmark, from 9 to 17 July, 2011. Being part of the GIT Fellows is really like being part of a big family, and we think this is the key to the continued success of these reunions. We are all looking so much forward to see you all again and will do our very best to make this week a week to remember. It will certainly be hard to follow up on our wonderful trip to Sardinia but we will definitely try!

Aarhus is our home town and we welcome you to what in Denmark is called "City of the smile". Aarhus is also called The Worlds smallest Metropole and in our opinion it has everything. A vibrant inner city surrounded by beaches and beech forests to the south and north. During our stay in Aarhus we will stay at the Hotel Royal which is located in the very centre of the city. From there we will explore the inner city with all the cafes and shopping opportunities as well as the areas sights around Aarhus. Have a look at the links above to get to know Aarhus better.

Wonderful Copenhagen will be the second part of your trip to Denmark. Copenhagen is a city with much charm, as reflected in its canals, narrow streets, and old houses. Its most famous resident was Hans Christian Andersen, whose memory lives on. Another of Copenhagen's world-renowned inhabitants was Soeren Kierkegaard, who used to take long morning strolls in the city, planning his next addition to the collection of essays that eventually earned him the title "father of existentialism." Many Copenhageners still bike to work along the city's canals. We join the locals who follow their noses to the cafes where the smell of freshly baked bread lures us in for a morning Danish and a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Along the way, we still pass that little old shopkeeper out soaping down his glass windows.
Copenhagen still retains some of the characteristics of a village. If you ignore the suburbs, you can cover most of the central belt on
