Given that they are lighter, stronger and more reliable compared to metallic counterparts – composite materials are particularly attractive to aviation and aerospace applications. It has evolved from being used as secondary structures to be increasingly used today in primary structures such as wings and fuselages – mainly benefitting operation costs with better fuel economy. With further research and development, these materials are expected to increase more of its performance and be more employed and leveraged in aircraft structures

This 3-day course provides participants with the latest and practical information on composite materials for aircraft structures. It is expected to provide managers, engineers & aviation personnel of both civil and military backgrounds increased competency on composite materials, design criteria, damage classification, repair method selection and repair techniques. It will cover practical skills on the classification of the damages on the composite parts, determination of applicable repairs and typical repairs on the composite structure. With comprehensive discussion and presentation, this course will be presented using recent data & information, real-world case studies and practical examples.
