Cambodia will host its 1st International Fire Protection and Security Show from 21-23 October 2010 at the brand new Diamond Island Convention & Exhibition CamFire 2010 will be the key platform for fire consultants, building consultants, M&E engineers, developers, contractors and agents/distributors to get updated on the latest fire and safety technology and at the same time, network with industry experts on trends and developments.

The demand for fire protection and safety equipment and technology are increasing as a result of the booming construction sector in Cambodia. Construction investments in Cambodia reached $3.2 billion in 2007 and an impressive $2.8 billion in 2008 despite the global economic slowdown. In the first eleven months of 2008, Cambodia had a total of 1,869 construction projects. Some of the major construction sites include the Camko City, IFC Tower, and Gold Tower 42.

Investments in construction projects in Cambodia increased 38 percent in the first nine months of 2008, compared to the same period last year, said Lao Tip Seiha, director of the Construction Department in the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction. While the real estate sector is expected to experience some slowdown in 2009, other sources of demand from tourism and infrastructure projects will provide impetus for the continued growth in the construction sector.
