ACR Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference 2013

The 2013 ACR Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference will take place May 4-8, 2013 in Washington, DC.

The ACR Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference (AMCLC) is held each spring in Washington, DC. The meeting includes the business or policymaking portion where representatives (the ACR Council) vote on matters of interest to the profession. The Council, represented by 339 chapter or subspecialty society elected members, debates issues as a deliberative body much like the House of Representatives. The ACR Council considers resolutions that establish ACR policies, changes to ACR Bylaws and ACR and collaborative practice guidelines and technical standards. The meeting also includes an advocacy component. Attendees are briefed on issues affecting the profession on Monday afternoon then meet with their Members of Congress to advocate for the profession and patients on Wednesday. The meeting also provides outstanding highlights including the conferring of ACR Fellowship, Honorary Fellowship and the ACR’s highest honor, the ACR Gold Medal during Sunday’s ACR Convocation. The Presidential Address, Moreton Lecture and Steven Leibel Memorial Lecture provide outstanding insights into areas affecting medicine and radiology. The meeting will provide CME opportunity on Saturday. Reports from the Chair of the ACR Board of Chancellors, CEO, Secretary-Treasurer, College Nominating Committee Chair, RFS Chair, ACRIN and RTOG provide outstanding opportunities to learn what the ACR is doing to advance the profession. Elections are held at the meeting to select future leaders who will take office immediately upon the meeting’s completion. Finally, the ACR AMCLC provides a great opportunity for members-in-training to come together and discuss future issues while taking part in a unique offering of programming and participation.
