MILAN Breast Cancer Conference 2011

It is a pleasure for us to welcome you to the 13th Milan Breast Cancer Conference –– a conference of Innovation in Patient Care.   Each of the past 12 conferences has had a first class faculty and a setting which fostered creative discussions. This conference will also include new information, consolidated knowledge, and conversations on controversial issues regarding diagnostic procedures, treatment strategies and disease prevention. As before, the conference will provide a stimulating forum for the presentation of innovation on ongoing and future research in breast cancer.The first part of this year’s conference relates to pathology and genetics. A spotlight on the progress of defining treatments will reflect the deliberations from the St. Gallen Breast Cancer Conference. A further part on innovation in imaging, diagnostics and surgery will lead to another spotlight which will deal with breast cancer survivors. Local treatments and especially innovations related to personalized treatment approaches will summarize attitudes towards novel systemic therapies. Combining targeted treatments will, furthermore, represent important developments in research on therapeutics during the preceding year.
