There is still unstable situation in metallurgical raw materials markets, and despite the occasional bursts of activity, no prominent improvements were observed. Absence of stable demand for rolled steel and semis products, limited utilization rate of blast-furnaces and steel-making capacities have caused low demand on raw materials which doesn’t allow suppliers to hold their positions. In near-term prospect no significant changes are expected – quotations won’t change or will slightly decrease amid low consumption. Demand upturn and price growth are expected since mid August – beginning of September.
At that, dependence of CIS raw materials markets on Chinese index will strengthen, as the number of contracts with price formula is increasing.
