MMSP-10 is the twelfth international workshop on multimedia signal processing. The workshop is organized by the Multimedia Signal Processing Technical Committee of the IEEE Signal Processing Society. The focus theme for this workshop is entertainment, gaming and virtual reality for the future. Everyday services at home and away, gaming and entertainment are more and more interconnected with multimedia systems and applications and have a bigger than ever part in our lives. Virtual and augmented reality, haptics and sensor networks are transforming this field and will deeply modify our perception and interaction with these future services and appliances. What are the new challenges for multimedia signal processing in this context, what are the emerging applications, and what theoretical tools will produce the next breakthroughs?.
Papers are solicited in the above workshop theme, including (but not limited to) the following topics, covering the general scope of the multimedia signal processing :

* Virtual reality and 3D imaging
* Haptic technology and interaction
* Multimodal interfaces and brain-computer interfaces
* Bio-inspired multimedia signal processing
* Distributed multimedia systems
* Implementations in portable/wearable systems
* Multimedia peer-to-peer communications
* Cross-layer design for multimedia communications
* Joint processing of modalities
* Multimedia databases and digital libraries
* Sensor information fusion
* Integration of media, art and multimedia technology
* Multimedia security and content protection
* Distributed source and source-channel coding
