The Body of Sound came to an end on 3rd October 2009. This edition of the festival, the second curated by Luca Francesconi, featured 73 composers from all over the world, 87 performances and 16 world premieres, alongside meetings and workshops.
Inspired by the centennial of the Futurist Manifesto (1909), the festival inquired about the various aspects of 'the body of sound' (virtual, electric, immaterial) from Varèse to ethnic traditions.
